Contributing Content
You are responsible for all content you contribute to Walk the Talk including text, photos, videos and audio (Your Content).
By contributing content to Walk the Talk, you grant The Long Walk Trust a royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to use Your Content in any way that we want, and in any media worldwide. This may include the use of your photos or video on the Walk the Talk or The Long Walk websites, in newsletters or social media. You retain copyright and any other rights you hold in Your Content and can continue to utilise Your Content as you wish.
You confirm you own or have the right to use any copyright material included in Your Content (including music, photos, quotes and excerpts of audio or video), that you have permission from anyone appearing or performing in Your Content and that you are not infringing any person’s rights by submitting the content to Walk the Talk. You also confirm you have, where appropriate, sought the consent of the parent or guardian of any person under the age of 18 who is featured in Your Content.
Please ensure you keep your own copies of Your Content as Walk the Talk may not archive, store or back-up Your Content nor continue to make Your Content accessible online.
The Long Walk Trust will endeavour to provide you with an appropriate credit when using Your Content on The Long Walk platforms, though you understand and agree this may not always be possible.
Challenge Terms & Conditions
Entry and participation in the Competition is free and open to all Australian schools and individuals, however those under 18 must have permission from a parent or guardian.
Entry to this Competition is deemed as permission for The Long Walk Trust to use images in promotional material.
In consideration for its entry into the Competition, the entrant warrants that it owns all copyright (or other intellectual property, if any) that may be reflected in the Entry and unconditionally and irrevocably provides to the Promoter, free of charge, a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to use the Entry for its own purposes.
Winners will be selected at the Promoter’s absolute discretion. The Promoter’s decision is final.
Incomplete, indecipherable or illegible entries will be deemed invalid at the Promoter’s absolute discretion.
The Competition is a game of skill and is not a trade promotion lottery.
Ancillary costs associated with claiming the prize are not included and are the responsibility of the winner.
This prize cannot be exchanged for cash and is non transferable and non refundable.
Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Promoter (including its officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the Promotion, including, but not limited to, where arising out of the following: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) for any reason; (d) any variation in prize value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions; (e) any tax liability (including FBT) incurred by a winner or entrant; or (f) use of the prize.
The personal information of entrants will be managed in accordance with the Promoter’s privacy policy.
The Promoter reserves the right to not proceed with or alter the prize or make any amendments to these Terms and Conditions including the cancellation of the Competition for any reason. Any changes to the Competition will be advised via the Competition website: walkthetalk.org.au
Entry to this Competition shall be deemed to be an acknowledgement and acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
COMMUNITY FUNDRAISING GUIDELINES FOR THE LONG WALK
The criteria considered by The Long Walk as being most important when approving individuals or organisations carrying out fundraising opportunities are:
Compliance – all The Long Walk fundraising activities will comply with relevant legislation, as set out by each State and Territory in Australia
Integrity – all The Long Walk activities must maintain the integrity, values and image of the organisation and its brand
Quality – The Long Walk will have a commitment to delivering high quality activities
Return on investment – The Long Walk will seek to raise significant funds with minimal staff and resource investment, leveraging strategies learned from the Invest Diva course.
Profile – all fundraising opportunities will aim to add value to The Long Walk and its work
Ethics – ethical considerations will be taken into account when entering into partnerships
Loyalty – the fundraising activity fits with The Long Walk’s current partners and sponsors
Acknowledgement – The Long Walk will take pride in appropriately acknowledging all contributions
National – where possible The Long walk will aim to raise funds from across Australia.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
You will be responsible for managing your The Long Walk event. You will need to manage finances, staffing, marketing, promotion, sponsorship and running of the event. The Long Walk is not able to provide prizes or funds to support your event, or help you to implement the day to day activities of the event.
MONEY MATTERS
- For audit purposes The Long Walk is required to account for all merchandise, and tins issued and all monies banked
- Provide us with an accurate estimate of the income and expenses associated with your event
- Keep accurate financial records, including receipts for expenses incurred and records of donations and moneys received
- Take only reasonable expenses (such as venue hire and catering) out of the profit generated. You must not incur any expenses in The Long Walk’s name
- Send in proceeds of the event within 21 days of the event concluding
LEGAL MATTERS
- Ensure that you have appropriate liability insurance to cover your The Long Walk event, as our insurance does not extend to external events
- Ensure that you seek our permission before using The Long Walk logo in any promotional activities
HOW THE LONG WALK WILL SUPPORT YOU
The Long Walk will provide:
- A variety of ideas for the type of fundraiser you can have (see list attached)
- Tips for planning and running your event
- The Long Walk logo for use in promotional activities
PLEASE NOTE any use of The Long Walk logo must have prior approval
- The opportunity for you to promote your event on our website
- A party pack containing – balloons, temporary tattoos and posters subject to availability. Additional resources can be purchased
- Resources and brochures about The Long Walk
- A letter of support, to help you gather local backing and sponsorship
- A sample media release and general support and media advice where resources permit.
